A Russian Su-25 crashed in the Rostov region, the pilot died – 161.RU

The second crash of a Russian military aircraft in the Rostov region in a day. According to a 161.RU source in law enforcement agencies, a Su-25 attack aircraft crashed near the Rogalik farm in the Millerovsky district of the region on October 9. The plane departed from the airfield of military unit 75391 on a sortie. The reasons for the failed flight are being investigated. The source said that the pilot died – the ejection system did not work.

The government of the Rostov region does not comment on the crash. In the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, the editors of 161.RU promised to "clarify the information."

The day before, also on October 9, a Russian Su-24 bomber crashed in the Rostov region, the crew managed to eject. The bomber crashed during a training flight, the press service of the Southern Military District (SMD) reported, Interfax reports .

According to preliminary information, a technical malfunction could become the cause of the incident. The plane crashed in a deserted place, there was no damage on the ground, the flight was carried out without ammunition.

According to The Insider's calculations, made from open sources, if the information about the second plane crashed in the Rostov region is confirmed, since the beginning of the military invasion of Ukraine, non-combat losses of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces amounted to 11 units.
