The death toll from the explosion on the Crimean bridge has risen to four people, among them is the judge of the Moscow Arbitration Court Sergey Maslov. This was reported by TASS with reference to a representative of emergency services.
The interlocutor of the agency added that the identification of the bodies of the dead is still ongoing.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Maslov as a judge, among others, on May 28, 2014. The Decree “On the Appointment of Judges of Federal Courts and Members of the Presidiums of Courts, on Representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in the Qualification Boards of Judges of the Subjects of the Russian Federation” has been published on the legal portal.
On October 8, at 6:05 a.m., an explosion thundered on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge from the side of the Taman Peninsula – according to preliminary data, a truck exploded on the bridge, which set fire to the tanks of the train that was walking along the railway part of the bridge. The moment of the explosion was caught on video. The ICR opened a criminal case, under which article, it is not specified.
The head of the parliament of the annexed peninsula, Volodymyr Konstantinov, specified that "Ukrainian vandals" damaged the roadway. Putin, at a meeting with the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, said that the executors and customers of the undermining of the bridge were the special services of Ukraine. Also after the explosion, the President instructed the FSB to strengthen the protection of the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, the Russia-Crimea power grid bridge and the Krasnodar Territory-Crimea gas pipeline.
Before the explosion, the truck passed through the territory of Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia and North Ossetia, Russian investigators established. RBC, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, said that the truck driver received an order for the transportation of fertilizers via the Internet. At the same time, Mash previously claimed that 52-year-old Mahir Yusubov, the uncle of the owner of the car, Samir Yusubov, could be driving the truck.
