Five mobilized residents of the Chelyabinsk region died in the war in Ukraine. This was reported to the publication 74.ru in the press service of the Chelyabinsk governor. This is the first official statement from the authorities about the death of those mobilized at the front.
Relatives of the victims were promised to pay a million rubles each in addition to federal benefits.
The first reports of the deaths of those mobilized at the front appeared earlier this week from the relatives of the victims and from various other sources, but there were no official comments on this matter. To date, at least 20 deaths of those mobilized in Russia are known.
When Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced partial mobilization, he promised that those mobilized would be sent to war only after they had completed training, which would take at least a month. In reality, they were sent to the war zone almost immediately after the service of the subpoenas.
