Counter-terrorist operation regime introduced in Belarus

A counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced in Belarus “against the background of reports of impending provocations by neighboring states.” It was with this formulation that the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Makei spoke in a conversation with Izvestia.

“Indeed, there was information that some neighboring states were planning provocations related almost to the seizure of certain sections of the territory of Belarus,” he said.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has not made public statements about the introduction of a counter-terrorist operation regime.

In August, the President of Belarus congratulated the Ukrainian people on Independence Day and wished "a peaceful sky, tolerance, courage, strength and success in restoring a decent life." At the same time, Ukrainian cities are being shelled from Belarusian territory. The Russian troops advancing on Ukraine were moving from Belarus, among other things.

On October 9, Belarus accused Ukraine of "preparing an attack." In March, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with Vladimir Putin , said : “Now I will show you where the attack was being prepared on Belarus,” and began to show something on the maps he brought with him. In July, Lukashenka accused the Ukrainian authorities of trying to launch a missile attack on Belarus.
