In Belgorod, an explosion and a fire are reported in the area of the Luch thermal power plant in the Kharkovskaya Gora area. A video of the explosion appeared on Telegram channels.
The governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that a 110 kW substation caught fire, he went to the scene of the emergency and promised to eliminate the consequences as quickly as possible.
“We will try to eliminate the consequences as quickly as possible. Approximate switching time to a backup source is up to 4 hours. The water supply is normal, the pumps have switched to other power lines,” Gladkov said.
“The fire is out. Part of the city is still without power. There is thick smoke near the substation," the official said.
