Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the power supply, interrupted as a result of massive Russian strikes, has been restored throughout the country. A video of the prime minister's speech at a government meeting is posted on his Telegram channel.
“Yesterday we managed to stabilize the power supply throughout the country after the attack <…> on October 10-12 on our energy infrastructure. The mandatory consumer restriction schedule no longer applied. At present, our energy system is working stably,” Shmyhal said.
At the same time, he acknowledged that the capacity of the backbone networks was reduced due to numerous destructions. Shmygal added that the government has allocated 300 million hryvnias ($8.1 million) for Kyiv and 57 million hryvnias ($1.5 million) for Sumy regions to repair infrastructure facilities.
On the morning of October 10, Russia shelled the territory of Ukraine. The attacks were targeted at various cities, including Kyiv and Lvov. Part of Lviv was left without electricity, the operation of the city's thermal power plants was suspended, and problems with water supply began.
According to the latest data from the General Staff of Ukraine, Russia fired 87 cruise missiles at the attacked territory, 46 of which the Armed Forces managed to shoot down. There was no electricity in 300 Ukrainian settlements. On the morning of October 11, Russia continued shelling Ukraine. Explosions were heard in the Odessa, Khmelnitsky, Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk and Nikolaev regions.
