The son of journalist Irina Slavina volunteered for the war with Ukraine

The son of journalist Irina Slavina Vyacheslav Murakhtaev volunteered for the war in Ukraine. He spoke about this in an interview with newsnn.ru.

According to him, he has a military specialty – an auto mechanic and a driver. Murakhtaev stated that people like him, "a specialist with experience, should be called":

“This is my informed decision. I am not going to run like all those citizens who fled to the CIS countries. When our grandfathers fought, they had no choice, they were put before the fact by the Nazis. I had a choice and I made it."

He stressed that at some points he does not agree with the policy of Vladimir Putin. At the same time, he believes that protecting Russia is his duty: “The Crimean bridge was blown up, they are trying to bomb Belgorod, God forbid, some terrorist will blow up the Borsky bridge, and my family will drive along it. I can't let that happen."

Earlier, Murakhtaev's sister Margarita said that he had been sent a summons and ordered to appear at the military registration and enlistment office on October 14. At the same time, she stated that her brother never served in the army due to health problems.

Slavina set herself on fire near the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod on October 2, 2020. Before that, she wrote on her Facebook page: “I ask you to blame the Russian Federation for my death.” At the beginning of October 2022, an administrative protocol was drawn up against her daughter for an action in memory of her mother.
