City administration building shelled in Donetsk

On the morning of October 16, in Donetsk, annexed by Russia, the building of the city administration was shelled.

The authorities of the “DPR” stated that the shelling was carried out from the Ukrainian side from the HIMARS installations. RIA Novosti writes that the administration building was severely damaged. The “Headquarters of the Territorial Defense of the DPR” stated that two civilians were injured as a result of the shelling. The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the incident.

During the armed conflict in Donbas, which began in 2014, the building of the Donetsk city administration has never been fired upon.

On September 30, Vladimir Putin signed agreements on “joining the Russian Federation” with the “DPR”, “LPR”, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine. The UN General Assembly passed a resolution condemning "referendums" on "accession". It was supported by 143 out of 193 UN member states. Only five countries were against: Belarus, North Korea, Syria, Nicaragua and Russia.
