Russians applying for a Schengen visa to Germany must provide an extract from a bank that operates in the EU countries. This was reported on the website of the visa center VisaMetric.
“It is necessary to provide proof of the availability of financial resources for the duration of your stay in the territory of the Schengen member states. Only up-to-date statements issued in the name of the applicant from a verifiable bank operating in EU member states can be accepted for consideration, ”the center’s website says.
In September, the European Union supported a complete halt to the visa facilitation agreement for Russians. Individual EU countries may review decisions made on already issued visas. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, some EU countries have stopped issuing visas to Russian citizens.
