Actionist Pavel Krisevich was sentenced to five years in prison for a “suicide” action on Red Square

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced actionist Pavel Krisevich to five years in a penal colony because of a “suicide” action on Red Square. This was reported by Novaya Gazeta. Europe".

The court regarded his performance as "hooliganism committed with the use of weapons." According to the investigation, on June 11, 2021, Krisevich, “grossly violating public order”, fired twice into the air from a blanked Makarov pistol.

In the summer of 2021, Krisevich on Red Square "shot" into the air and into his head – this is how he simulated suicide. Before that, he read out a manifesto: “We will respond to force and repression with fearlessness. Because there will be no more fear. Shots will follow in front of the Kremlin curtain.”

After the arrest, the actionist said: “I am an actionist artist, and I decided to perform an art action on Red Square. The main idea of ​​the action was that I produced the “elimination of my own fear.”
