The World Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow fined Amazon online store twice for refusing to remove prohibited information. This was reported by Interfax with reference to its correspondent in the courtroom.
The company's first fine was imposed for failure to remove information about the methods of committing suicide (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), it amounted to 1 million rubles. The second fine amounted to 3 million rubles – for refusing to delete data on the places and methods of distribution of drugs (part 4 of article 13.41).
This is the first fine received by Amazon in Russia. Earlier, a court in Moscow fined the company's subsidiary, the video service Twitch, for refusing to localize the personal data of Russians. The amount of the fine was 2 million rubles.
Twitch also received two fines for "fakes": for refusing to remove an interview with an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich and for refusing to remove a video with "inaccurate information about the events in Bucha" – 3 million and 2 million rubles, respectively.
