Putin “introduced” martial law in the occupied Ukrainian territory

Vladimir Putin declared martial law in the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia. The decree on the introduction of martial law in four regions occupied by Russia was published on the Kremlin website . It was allegedly adopted due to the fact that “armed force is used against the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation”

Martial law is introduced in the "DPR", "LPR", Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In August, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the extension of martial law in the country for 90 days until November 21, 2022.

Putin also introduced an average level of response in the regions bordering Ukraine and new territories – these are Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov regions.

It is also reported that the government, on behalf of Putin, will create a special coordination council headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to "coordinate work to improve security."

Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that amid the news, the closure of borders in Russia "is not planned", and no additional restrictions on exit will be introduced.
