A monk who opposed the war disappeared in the Belgorod region

In the village of Khokhlovka, Belgorod Region, a monk of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, Hilarion (in the world – Nikolai Shatkovsky), disappeared. About this writes "OVD-Info" with reference to his friends.

Hilarion has not been in touch since October 15th. According to the monk's acquaintances, his neighbor saw the man being taken away from the house by security forces. Hilarion's girlfriend also told OVD-Info that journalist Yuri Mamaev was involved in the detention. She calls him a provocateur from the FSB, who took the monk "in development" for his opposition activities. According to her, during the detention, Ilarion was beaten.

The opposition activity of the monk is his anti-war position, with which he spoke in his social networks. A few days before his arrest, Hilarion recorded a video in which he spoke about his changed attitude towards the West and distrust of Russian propagandists.
