A resident of the Kharkiv region faces up to 8 years in prison for an interview in which she praised the Russian military

A resident of the Kharkiv region, who spoke well of the Russian military in an interview with the Russian propaganda TV channel Zvezda, faces up to 8 years in prison under the article on justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine (436-2 part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

A resident of the village of Kupyansk-Uzlovoi, Svetlana Mikhaleva, gave an interview at the end of May in which she said that she supported the Russian army and Russia's actions in Ukraine. She stated, in particular, that with the arrival of the Russian military, “I began to feel safe.”

“True, they were really waiting for you, because they really crushed us here with their Ukrainian, personally the child was forced to speak Ukrainian in the garden, they rewrote history, and my daughter only went to first grade, and I was very worried that she would not learn all this nonsense who wrote. And now I’m grateful, guys, thanks to them for protecting,” says the woman in the video.

The prosecutor's office said that after the de-occupation of the village, the woman went to receive humanitarian aid from the Ukrainian military.

On October 20, it became known that a resident of Cherkassy received 10 years in prison for calling on Russia to shell the city. She is also accused of passing information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Russian military. The woman was found guilty of high treason and distribution of materials calling for changing the borders of the territory of Ukraine.
