The Ministry of Culture considers it logical that the names of artists who left Russia disappear from the posters of cultural institutions, RBC was told in the department.
“Those cultural figures who left the country in this difficult time, abandoned Russia, who publicly opposed its rich culture, are absolutely logically leaving our institutions and their posters one after another,” the message says.
The department said that citizens are asking for this.
“There are a large number of applications from citizens who are outraged by the presence of such figures in the information and advertising materials of state institutions. This request comes, first of all, from society, and we cannot and must not ignore it.”
On October 21, it became known that the name of Boris Akunin had been removed from the posters on the websites of the RAMT and the Alexandrinsky Theater. Akunin himself announced this on his Facebook.
We are talking about posters for four performances based on Akunin's plays. According to the writer, the names of the plays themselves remained, but the column with the name of their author is now empty.
“Recently, the artistic director of the theater called me and, very worried, said that the Laundry (Alexei Vladimirovich [Borodin] did not use this word, he is an intelligent person) demands that my name be removed. I confess, at first I burst out laughing, because the idea of a poster without a name seemed very funny to me. "Words of the people". But Alexei Vladimirovich was clearly not laughing, and I replied: “Do what is best for you,” Akunin writes.
The same situation happened with the playbill for the production of "1881", which Akunin wrote for the Alexandrinsky Theater.
“I do not condemn theaters that are forced to adapt to the thickening state madness. To engage in culture in today's Russia is a difficult task, like swimming in sulfuric acid. I sympathize with the leaders of theaters (of course, except for those who themselves are eager to become the first students). If a person decides: the cause you serve is more important than damage to your reputation, this is a difficult choice that you yourself suffer, but not your team and not your audience, ”added the writer.
Akunin stressed that he does not demand that his "nameless performances" be removed from the repertoire.
