The US authorities blocked the participation of the Russian Federation in the IAEA conference. None of the members of the Russian delegation received an American visa

The United States blocked Russia's participation in the IAEA conference in Washington, the state corporation Rosatom said, RIA Novosti reports . The company called this a manifestation of disrespect on the part of the American side for the IAEA.

“The in-person participation of the Russian delegation, formed from representatives of the leadership of Rosatom and Rostekhnadzor, was supposed to take place. Requests for US visas for members of the delegation were forwarded in due course. As of today, none of the members of the Russian delegation has received an American visa,” the statement said.

As the company said, since the pandemic, the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, has been participating in the conference in the form of a video message.

The international conference "Nuclear Energy in the 21st Century" is to be held on October 26-28.

In September, the United States did not issue visas to Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev and a Russian delegation to attend a summit of interior ministers at the UN.
