Administration of Anapa Airport named after V.K. Kokkinaki, which has been closed since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has figured out how to raise funds in the absence of flights. Everyone who misses flights is offered to go through a full pre-flight procedure, but without the climax – the actual departure, takeoff.
Excursion "I want to fly" involves "full immersion in the atmosphere" – for 1500 rubles. It includes:
- pre-flight screening;
- check-in on board;
- obtaining boarding passes;
- boarding gate;
- accommodation in the cabin of a passenger aircraft;
- visit to the cockpit;
- water arch (one of the most famous traditions from the life of the airport);
- onboard food.
On February 24, the day the military invasion of Ukraine began, 11 airports in southern Russia stopped working. At idle airports of Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista.
