The Russian Ministry of Defense exempted fathers of two children with spouses with a gestational age of more than 22 weeks from mobilization, as well as fathers of disabled children, regardless of the number of children. However, in return, the department demanded not to insist until the end of the war on the adoption of amendments to the law “On mobilization”. This was announced by State Duma deputy, chairman of the committee on family, women and children Nina Ostanina in Telegram.
Ostanina said she phoned Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov, who informed her of the changes.
“In return, we were asked not to insist until the end of the special operation on the adoption of amendments to the law “On mobilization”, since the directive is valid until the end of the SVO. We will talk with colleagues at this point separately, but the head of the State Duma Committee on Defense has already promised me to personally support our amendments after the NWO.”
Earlier in October, Ivan Polyansky, a 26-year-old father of three children from the Orenburg region, died during an exercise when a grenade launcher exploded next to him. He received a summons three times, but the first two times he was not taken away, because "there was not enough space." The wife of the deceased believes that the grenade launcher could explode due to the fact that old ammunition was used in the exercises, this batch was removed and sent for examination. The woman was left with three sons, the youngest of whom is three years old.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stated that fathers of many children with three or more children under 16 are exempt from "partial" mobilization. According to him, more than 9,500 fathers were recalled from military units and returned to their families. At the same time, no relevant law was adopted and published, and a bill was previously submitted to the State Duma on the exemption of fathers of large children under 18 from mobilization.
