A “course of military journalism” will be created at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University to teach “professional coverage” of the war

At Moscow State University, at the Faculty of Journalism, a “course of military journalism” will be created, students there are promised to be taught to “professionally cover” military topics. This was stated by the general director of "Arguments and Facts" Ruslan Novikov.

“Teaching at the Faculty of Journalism is constantly transforming. We spoke with [Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Yelena] Vartanova that a military journalism course is currently being created. The course is very much needed. We have someone to bring to it and show, demonstrate how it is done professionally and why it is done that way,” he said.

In September, two students were expelled from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, who condemned the “patriotic” Z-action of a third-year student on social networks. According to The Insider's interlocutor, the decision was made at the "ethics committee" in this case, with the participation of the dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Elena Vartanova, who was "adamant". They tried to hide the commission from the students, the student council was not allowed to discuss it. Five students, including the head of the course, were severely reprimanded.

Third-year student Stepan Antropov came to the university wearing a T-shirt with a Z-symbol and waving the flag of the "LPR". Classmates reminded him that political activity within the walls of the university is prohibited. The faculty leadership condemned those who criticized the young man, while there were no complaints against Antropov himself.

In early September, students and professors at the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University told The Insider how the department's administration forbids talking about the war and "foreign agents," cuts the salaries of dissenting professors, and promotes state propaganda.
