IRGC agents stole the body of the deceased journalist of the Iranian service of Radio Liberty

Iranian intelligence officers stole the body of Iranian journalist Reza Haqigatnejad to prevent his funeral. This is reported by the Iranian service of Radio Liberty.

On October 17, Hagigatnejad died at the age of 45 from cancer at the Charité Clinic in Berlin. The journalist's relatives wanted to bury him in his native Shiraz, and in agreement with the Iranian authorities on October 25, his body was delivered to Iran.

After that, according to Radio Liberty sources, Hagigatnejad's body was stolen and taken to an unknown destination by agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The publication also reports that now the journalist's relatives are being pressured to agree to a funeral in another city.

Hagigatnejad has worked as a political analyst for Radio Liberty since 2019. He left Iran due to increased pressure on journalists and never returned.
