At least 120 people were killed and another 100 were injured during a stampede during the celebration of Halloween in the South Korean capital, according to The Associated Press, citing the Seoul authorities.
The Seoul fire chief said the death toll could rise and that an unspecified number of injured were in critical condition. The stampede came as the crowd began moving forward in a narrow alley outside the Hamilton Hotel, Seoul's main party venue.
Many bodies are still lying on the streets, some have been moved to the local gym, where they await identification.
