In the Black Sea, 218 vessels with Ukrainian grain participating in the “grain initiative” are blocked. This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
Of the 218 vessels, 95 have already left Ukrainian ports and are awaiting inspection for departure, 101 are awaiting entry inspection, 22 loaded vessels are waiting to leave Ukrainian ports.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine emphasizes that the actual blockade of the "grain corridor" by Russia began in September, when it artificially delayed inspections and reduced their number. As a result, a queue of 176 vessels appeared in the Black Sea, with a total of 2.1 million tons of agricultural products loaded.
“Thus, Russia’s intention to provoke massive famine in the needy countries of Africa and Asia, as well as to create an acute food shortage throughout the world, becomes obvious,” writes the Ukrainian side.
On October 29, Russia indefinitely suspended participation in an agreement to unblock Ukrainian ports with grain. Following this, Ukraine was forced to suspend grain exports, due to which the dry cargo ship IKARIA ANGEL got stuck in the port of Odessa, which was supposed to deliver 40,000 tons of grain to Ethiopia.
