Bayraktar drones will have air-to-air missiles that can withstand Shahed-136

Bayraktar drones manufactured by the Turkish company Baykar Defense will have air-to-air missiles. This was stated by the general director of the company Haluk Bayraktar.

“Soon our Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akıncı will have air-to-air missiles. Not only to destroy drones, but also other enemy aircraft … We are testing, ”Daily Sabah quotes him.

Baykar Defense signed a contract with Roketsan, the largest Turkish missile manufacturer. The companies have agreed to integrate the Roketsan-made Sungur anti-aircraft missile to fight drones. According to Roketsan general manager Murat Ikinci, it is "a reliable munition, especially against moving targets such as helicopters and drones." He stated that using the Sungur as an air-to-air missile would be a "game changer".

These missiles will also allow Ukraine to counter the Iranian Shahed-136 drones that Russia uses. According to Volodymyr Zelensky, she used about 400 of these UAVs, 60-70% of them shot down the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the most massive drone attacks was carried out on October 17th. In the Shevchenkovsky district of Kyiv, four people died, three were hospitalized, several people received minor injuries.
