“These are products for Ethiopia, which is on the verge of starvation.” Ukraine Suspends Grain Exports as Russia Blocks Grain Corridor

Ukraine was forced to suspend grain exports due to the fact that Russia is blocking the "grain corridor". This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.

According to him, because of this, dry cargo ship IKARIA ANGEL got stuck in the port of Odessa. The ship, chartered by the UN under the World Food Programme, was supposed to send 40,000 tons of grain to Ethiopia.

“These products were intended for Ethiopians who are on the verge of starvation. But due to the blocking of the “grain corridor” by Russia, export is impossible,” Kubrakov writes.

On October 29, Russia indefinitely suspended participation in an agreement to unblock Ukrainian ports with grain. The reason for this, according to the Russian authorities, was "massive air and sea strikes" on Russian ships on duty in the area of the "grain corridor". The European Union called on Russia to reconsider its decision, saying that overcoming the global food crisis depends on it.
