Erdogan: Turkey will continue to support grain exports from Ukraine

Turkey will make every possible effort to ensure that grain exports from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine continue, despite Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the World Turkish Medical Congress in Istanbul. His words are quoted by Reuters.

“Even if Russia behaves indecisively, since it has not received the same benefits, we will continue our determined efforts aimed at the benefit of mankind,” Erdogan said.

Earlier, the UN said it had agreed with Turkey and Ukraine on a plan to move 16 ships in the Black Sea as part of a grain deal. The parties also agreed to inspect 40 ships sailing on October 31. Russia was informed about these plans.

On October 30, Russia suspended its participation in a grain deal that allows grain to be exported from Ukrainian ports. Russia cited massive air and sea strikes against Russian ships on duty in the area of the grain corridor as the reason for this.
