Moldova expels Russian embassy staffer after Russian missile hit on its territory

Moldova has declared an employee of the Russian embassy persona non grata. He will have to leave the republic.

The decision to expel was a response to the fall of fragments of a Russian rocket on the territory of the Moldovan village of Naslavcha. “Missile strikes on a neighboring country continue to increase security risks, and the citizens of our country are increasingly feeling the devastating effects of war. Attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure also jeopardize Moldova's energy security,” the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said .

The incident with the fall of the rocket in Naslavcha took place on the morning of October 31. Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot it down, but the fragments fell to the ground in the territory of Moldova, breaking windows in some houses. The Armed Forces of Ukraine said that Russia is using Moldovan airspace to attack Ukraine.
