Sergei's wife and sister confirmed to The Insider that the man in the video is Sergei. At the same time, the women claim that they learned about the existence of this video from The Insider: “No, [before] no one [this video] was sent to me, and they didn’t send it to my sister from Ukraine either, only I sent it to her now,” said Sergey’s sister .
“I feel joy, of course, for my brother. Because he is alive and well. I want to say that people do not fall for such tricks and try to find out and seek the truth, ”she also said in a conversation with The Insider.
Earlier, Sergei's wife told The Insider that her husband came to Russia from the Odessa region, and in 2020 he was sentenced to 9 years and 9 months in a penal colony for selling drugs. After the outbreak of the war, recruiters from Wagner PMC visited his colony. They told the prisoners that they would go to war anyway, whether they wanted to or not. After that, Sergey stopped communicating.
On October 15, the woman received a text message saying that her husband had been shot as a deserter. His sister wrote a message to the same number asking where to pick up the corpse and how to identify it. In response, they demanded money from her for the burial address and the number of people who know about it.
