The Ukrainian military blew up two Ka-52 helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces standing there on the territory of a military airfield in the Pskov region. The explosion took place on October 30th. Information about this appeared in social networks and the media. On October 31, the military intelligence of Ukraine issued a statement claiming responsibility for what happened.
Later, a video appeared on Telegram channels, filmed by the Ukrainian military, who freely entered the territory of the Veretye military airfield in broad daylight and planted explosives under the Ka-52s stationed there.
Today, November 1, the REN TV channel, citing its own sources, reported that after examining the scene, the security services found another explosive device. The suspicious object was attached to the fuselage of the MI-28 helicopter. In TNT equivalent, the power of the alleged explosion would have reached 400 grams. The story indicated that the possibility of sabotage was being considered.
Together with these two helicopters, since the beginning of the military invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost 25 Ka-52 units.
The authenticity of this video is confirmed by open source investigators. Resource JB Schneider compares satellite images of the airbase and video, noting that the authenticity is indicated by the similarity of structures, vegetation and the location of helicopters.
The Telegram channel "Military Informant" writes that to carry out sabotage, the Ukrainians used the simplest Soviet delayed-action fuses VZD-6ch with MD-5M detonators, which were then placed in explosive charges mounted on Ka-52 helicopters.
The bombs were planted in the daylight and went off on a fuse timer late in the evening.
It is noted that in 2019, strangers already entered the Veretye airfield unnoticed. Then they were activists of the Extreme Photographer group, they took photo and video footage of Ka-52 attack helicopters of the 15th Army Aviation Brigade of the Western Military District, as well as the territory of the airfield.
