Mediazona publisher Pyotr Verzilov has been prosecuted for "fake news" about the Russian army, according to the pro-Kremlin channel Shot. Later, this information also appeared in the Baza channel.
According to the channels, Verzilov was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list.
The reason for the new case was Verzilov's posts on social networks about the crimes of the Russian army in Bucha.
In 2021, the Interior Ministry put Verzilov on the wanted list because he concealed his Canadian citizenship.
