The German liqueur producer Jägermeister is officially suspending supplies to Russia. This was announced by the vice-president of the Federation of restaurateurs and hoteliers Sergei Mironov.
“Distributors are looking for supply options and will find them after some time. At the same time, suppliers have already notified restaurants of a price increase for the Jägermeister that was left in stock,” Mironov said.
Market participants claim that Jägermeister left Russia: “Earlier there were only rumors about this, but one after another Russian suppliers began to declare refusals – stocks had already run out at a number of points.”
The German company Mast-Jägermeister SE, which produces the liquor, has not yet commented on the information.
In August, Russian retailers asked the government to allow parallel imports of foreign alcohol, including champagne. Sanctions, as stated by the Association of Retailers, may deprive Russians of imported drinks for the New Year: this applies, in particular, to Moet, Veuve Clicqout, Finlandia, Jack Daniel's, Baileys, Jonnie Walker, Hennessy. According to this scheme, it was also proposed to import Jägermeister, Captain Morgan, Boddingtons, Heineken, Carlsberg and Guinness beer.
