Since February 24, Nikolaev has not been shelled for only 44 days – Mayor of the city

During the 255 days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Mykolaiv was not shelled for only 44 days. This was told by the mayor of the city Alexander Senkevich.

“The rest of the days we were under torture, so people don’t stay here – they don’t feel safe and move on,” he said at a briefing.

On the night of October 22-23, the Russian army fired at Nikolaev with S-300 missiles. Five people were injured and three were hospitalized. A warehouse building and a house were destroyed, and a heating main was damaged. On the same day, 14 kamikaze drones were shot down over the Nikolaev region.

The Russian side, in turn, has been claiming from the first day of the war that it is only attacking the military infrastructure of Ukraine.
