Russian troops are trying to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Kremennaya and Svatovo in the Luhansk region, the head of the Luhansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, reported on the afternoon of November 4. According to Wargonzo, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attacking in the Yagodnoye area and in the direction of Kremennaya. It was also reported about the attacks of Russian troops in the direction of Makeevka and Nevsky. However, there are no significant changes in this direction.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bakhmut is on the defensive: fighting continues in the southern and eastern directions of the city, all assaults have been repulsed. Local residents complain about constant shelling, bridges are destroyed in the city and roads are broken. People say that they live in a vacuum, without communication, water and gas.

Earlier, Western military experts noted that it is becoming increasingly difficult for Russia to supply its grouping on the right bank of the Dnieper, it is more profitable for it to create a new defensive line along the coastline.
Despite the ongoing withdrawal of some Russian units from the northwestern part of the Kherson region, it remains unclear whether Russian troops will defend Kherson, analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War write . According to experts, Russian forces sent unprepared conscripts on the offensive in the western part of the Donetsk region for the sake of minor territorial gains.
Military expert Sergei Grabsky believes that the mobilized are fulfilling the Kremlin’s plan to slow down the Ukrainian offensive on the right bank of the Dnieper:
If Russia could, she would have thrown so many troops there that it would be impossible to push them through. They understand that any infiltration of Ukraine there means that Ukraine can push into the northern Luhansk region and advance all the way to Starobilsk, but it turns out that, in the event of a large concentration of forces, they can chop off those parts that Ukraine now controls.
When Ukraine takes the right bank, it will be the end for Russia to advance there. Russia needs a breakthrough to Zaporozhye, because today it does not have enough strength to restore a sane supply of the right bank using the Kherson sector, and it is necessary to reach new sectors – to Zaporozhye and Kremenchug.
If the advance to Kharkov, Poltava and Kremenchug began, the Russians would cut off the most combat-ready grouping of Ukrainian troops in the Donbass, they would make an island in the block of Chernihiv, Sumy, part of the Poltava and Kharkov regions, which cannot be saved. Those troops that would have ended up in this area would have been blocked, and only people could cross the reservoir without the means of crossing, leaving all the equipment, which would be a disaster for the Ukrainian army. The Right Bank would then remain under control, and one could think about advancing by destroying the strike groups of the Ukrainian army.
Now the situation has changed, and today it is critically important for Russian troops to hold Kherson, after which, having created shock groups, they can break through to the Zaporozhye and Kremenchug region with any forces. But they don't have that kind of power.
Ukrainian sources report that over the past six days, 5,000 Russian troops have been killed and thousands wounded. Now the combat losses of Russian troops are 74,840 people and continue to grow, as untrained replacements are sent to the front in parts.
The Ukrainian Center for the Study and Counteraction of Hybrid Threats discovered and verified more than two hundred letters signed by Andrey Troshev, one of the leaders of the Wagner PMC, with condolences to the families of Prigozhin mercenaries recruited in Russian colonies.
