During the war against Ukraine, the Russian military failed to destroy a single HIMARS installation used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Politico writes about this with reference to a representative of the US Department of Defense.
In total, Ukraine received 20 HIMARS installations from the United States, and 18 more will be delivered as part of a new arms package. This is a long-term purchase that can take up to two years. The last delivery, which included four HIMARS units, arrived in Ukraine on October 12.
The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly reported on the destruction of American MLRS. In September alone, there were at least three such "destructions". So, on September 3, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov , announced the elimination of one HIMARS installation in the Konstantinovka area in the Donetsk region. On the 9th, Russia allegedly destroyed another one, near the Chervony Donets in the Kharkov region, and on the 25th – in the Nikolaev region.
