The United States sent warplanes towards Iran after reports that Tehran is preparing an attack on Saudi Arabia, writes the Washington Post.
The newspaper said that the departure of aircraft based in the Persian Gulf “became an illustration of the strength and importance of the partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia.”
The publication does not specify exactly when the planes were raised.
