Andrey Kartapolov, head of the Duma Committee on Defense, said that summonses to the military registration and enlistment office after the completion of mobilization are distributed to “clarify the data,” RBC.
Kartapolov also accused “ill-wishers” of “inflating” the news about incoming subpoenas.
The official said that the summonses were distributed even before mobilization, and their essence was to clarify their data in the military commissariat.
“… very many, yes almost all, did not [didn’t come to the military registration and enlistment office to clarify their data, – ed.] for many years. And therefore, the military commissariat does not have all the information about those liable for military service. And he, a person liable for military service, must provide this information about himself to the military registration and enlistment office … These summonses are distributed precisely for this, so that a person comes, presents documents, and provides information about himself. They will be entered into the database and the person will go home. And again, our ill-wishers and opponents are inflating everything, who are trying to declare that mobilization continues. Mobilization completed!
