The Russian regions allocated at least 22.6 billion rubles for the war in Ukraine after the order of President Vladimir Putin, of which 12.8 billion were for payments to the mobilized, the Important Stories found out .
So far, only 33 regions have published data on mobilization spending. The publication emphasizes that the allocated money is not enough to pay all mobilized. The interviewed anonymous experts believe that 22.6 billion is a little on a national scale, the total expenses of the regions for the year reach 17 trillion rubles. But it can be difficult for subjects to find additional money on their own, as payments to the mobilized are “contingencies”.
Thus, the Kaluga region pays 100 thousand rubles to the mobilized, the budget provides for 131.8 million rubles, therefore, 1318 mobilized will receive the money. But in the region they wanted to call more than 2,500 people. In the Smolensk region, 800 mobilized people will receive payments, while the authorities planned to call for several times more. The situation is similar in the Tambov region. However, in some regions the situation is reversed. For example, the Irkutsk region has allocated 540 million rubles for payments, which makes it possible to pay 5,400 mobilized – initially, the region planned to call for 5,000 as part of the mobilization.
Since the beginning of Putin's announcement of a "partial" mobilization, the authorities have denied reports of a shortage of equipment for the mobilized. At the same time, even on the government resource, conscripts are advised to take quadrocopters and night vision devices with them to the military unit, and in some units they are urged to buy bulletproof vests and dressings in advance. Dozens of videos appear on the network with complaints from mobilized people about uniforms and lack of payments. Earlier, The Insider found that the wives of the mobilized are discussing in Telegram chats how much it costs to gather a husband for the war. Women are indignant that they have to spend about 150 thousand rubles from the family budget.
