In occupied Kherson, Russian servicemen dressed in civilian clothes occupy the homes of civilians and strengthen positions for street fighting. This is stated in the message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
According to the General Staff, at the same time, Russian propaganda journalists are preparing a provocation. They plan to shoot a video in the city about the “destruction of the civilian population by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.”
“The Russian occupying forces continue to flagrantly violate the laws and customs of waging war against the civilian population. In the village of Kakhovka, Kherson region, the search for sabotage groups and firefighters continues. The detainees are taken to Gornostaevka and the show is “knocked out” under torture. Similar events are taking place in the villages of Borovskoye and Shchedrishchevo in the Luhansk region: mass searches, seizure of mobile phones, kidnappings.”
The Luhansk Regional Military Administration (OVA) also reported that the occupying authorities were carrying out mass searches in the villages of Borovskoye and Shchedrishchevo, confiscating mobile phones from civilians, and taking some citizens to an unknown destination. Only from the village of Smolyaninovo, according to the administration, about 30 people were taken away. Empty houses in Smolyaninovo, as well as in the village of Novoakhtyrka, are being populated by "partially mobilized Russians," the OVA claims.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces have repulsed attacks in the areas of the settlements of Yampol, Andreevka, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka, Pavlovka, Vodiane, Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk region and Belogorivka in the Luhansk region. The areas of 30 settlements of Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Nikolaev, Sumy and Kherson regions were subjected to shelling by the Russian Federation.
On November 3, a photo was published on social networks with the Russian flag removed from the administrative building in Kherson. The defense forces of southern Ukraine have warned that the Russian army may "give the impression that the settlements have been abandoned and that it is safe to enter them." So the Russian Federation, with the help of a provocation, hopes to lure the Ukrainian army into the city. On October 24, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated that the evacuation of people and property by Russia from the occupied Kherson was a manipulation. In fact, the Russian authorities are bringing new military units into the city and preparing the streets for defense, he noted.
