The 27th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP27) begins in Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh with the participation of more than 120 heads of state and government.
According to the New York Times, the focus is on the issue of harm caused by anthropogenic climate change. For the first time, Egypt, host of the summit, and Pakistan, which led the group of participating developing countries, managed to include this topic on the official agenda. The FT writes that this issue has become more relevant this year, largely due to natural disasters, including floods in Pakistan and Nigeria.
Moscow is aimed at depoliticized cooperation in the field of combating climate change, said the head of the Russian delegation, presidential adviser Edelgeriev.
