In St. Petersburg, the police cracked down on a chain of night bars on Rubinshteina Street, where customers, who were entertained by fake companions, paid their bills several times, leaving a total of about 10.5 million rubles – and maybe more.
Clients were deceived in the same way: wealthy men who were either already thoroughly drunk or were happy to continue in the company of a “pretty stranger” became the victims of fraudsters.
