The State Duma rejected a bill on a single operator of outdoor digital advertising and online ads.
If it were accepted, then any announcements would be coordinated and placed exclusively by one service. And she would decide if you could sell a sofa online or advertise your coffee shop on a digital billboard. Marketplaces could die out, and the advertising industry (which is already having a hard time) will lose even more money.
The authors of the project explained it by concern for security and the fight against fakes, but they did not consult with representatives of the professional community. As a result, common sense prevailed and Parliament rejected the proposal.
