Baza: music services began to block the song “Oh at the moon of red viburnum”

Music streaming services in Russia have begun to block the Ukrainian folk song “Oh at the moon of red viburnum”. Baza drew attention to this.

So, the composition disappeared from Yandex.Music. In response to a request from Baza, the platform's technical support stated that it was withdrawn due to the requirement of Roskomnadzor. The regulator "sent a notice to all music platforms to restrict access to this track."

It is noteworthy that only the version of the song performed by the Hryhoriy Verevka National Honored Academic Folk Choir of Ukraine was blocked. She, but performed by the Russian singer Alexander Malinin, as well as several other covers and remixes, are still available on Yandex.Music. In "VKontakte" the song is available in all variations.

In early October, the winner of the Mrs. Crimea 2022 contest, Olga Valeeva, and her friend were prosecuted for performing the Ukrainian national song “Oh, there is red viburnum in the blue.” They were found guilty under articles on discrediting the Russian army and on propaganda of Nazi or extremist symbols.
