Hackers published data of 2.6 million users of the social network “Gazprom” Yappy

Pro-Ukrainian hackers hacked and uploaded the data of 2.6 million users of the Russian social network Yappy, owned by Gazprom Media, to the network, according to the Telegram channel Data1eaks.

The merged database contains names, surnames, dates of birth, phone numbers, models of devices used and accounts on other platforms that are attached to the Yappy account. According to Data1eaks, the data is current as of July 1, 2022. The "Agency" confirms that the database contains genuine data. In particular, there are the same contacts of the actress Anna Khilkevich as in other leaks.

The Yappy application was announced as the Russian analogue of TikTok. It was created on the basis of the application "I'm done", developed with the participation of the fund of Vladimir Putin's daughter Katerina Tikhonova "Innopraktika". Gazprom-Media acquired it in 2020. The application itself was launched in the fall of 2021.

With the help of Yappy, the Russian authorities promote their agenda, which pro-Kremlin bloggers broadcast for them. One of the main conditions is censorship – there should be no “jokes and questions on religious and political topics,” the Agency and Important Stories found out.
