A court in Udmurtia sentenced former rural teacher Ilya Farber to 3 years and 2 months in a strict regime colony for throwing Molotov cocktails at the military enlistment office and recruiting office. This was reported by the press service of the courts of the region.

Farber, 48, was found guilty of "intentional destruction of property out of hooligan motives" in the village of Igra. The maximum punishment under this article (part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code) is five years in prison. He also has to pay 2.6 million rubles in fines.

In court, Ilya Farber refused to testify and pleaded guilty. He, as noted in the press service, said that "he had no intention to destroy other people's property", "he wanted to check himself whether he could throw a bottle at the military enlistment office and the recruiting office, when he saw the fire, he realized what he had done, regretted that , What did you do".

Farber attempted to commit arson in May. The office on the ground floor of the military registration and enlistment office burned down, and the recruiting office was almost not damaged.

The court in the verdict took into account Farber's unserved sentence: in 2014, he was released on parole after he received an eight-year sentence. He was sentenced in 2012 in the case of a bribe during repairs in a recreation center in Ostashkov, Tver region. At this time, he worked as a teacher of fine arts and literature and music and participated in the repair. Investigators claimed that Faber demanded kickbacks from the contractor, his lawyers said that the man invested his own money.
