“Most people are waiting for the arrival of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and hope that the Russians will leave”
Today it became known that the Russian army is retreating from Kherson. Surovikin reported to Shoigu that the Russian military would “take up defensive positions on the left bank of the Dnieper River.”
Prior to this, the city and the region adjacent to it lived under the control of the occupation administration. In May, “Nimage” communicated with the inhabitants of the region. Those told a lot about the riots, abductions, pressure from the security forces. Some said that they were waiting with hope for the arrival of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“They also write that Ukraine has abandoned us. And I don’t believe in it. Just not with the current president. He will not allow the same thing that happened with Donetsk and Crimea. They didn’t forget about us, we just need patience.”– said one of the townspeople.
