The ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and the head of the former Ukrainian party “United Rus'” crashed to death during a police chase in Simferopol.

66-year-old Aleksey Remenyuk was driving his “Range Rover” on the evening of his friend’s birthday. He was stopped by the police. During the verification of documents, they asked me to purge myself – I turned out to be drunk.

When the police tried to detain him, he escaped from his hands, jumped behind the wheel and gave on the gases. The driver dragged the traffic police officer on the car door along the asphalt, and when the chase began, Remenyuk’s Range Rover went into the oncoming lane on the bypass road and collided with the truck. He and his passenger died at the scene.
