The reason for the strange behavior and death of roe deer in the Kurgan region was an infection – clostridiosis, according to the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The source of infection is still unclear, but Clostridium spores can persist in the soil for a long time.
According to scientists, monitoring of the situation will continue – most likely, the outbreak will end by itself, “but it is possible that the infection will spread, and then some measures will have to be taken.”
