On the night of November 10-11, the Russian military shelled Nikolaev. This was reported by the mayor of the city Alexander Senkevich.

According to him, Russia attacked the residential quarter of Nikolaev. One of the rockets hit the five-story building, as a result of which all the floors of the building were destroyed. According to Senkevich , at least six people died. The shelling was also commented by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky:

"Nikolaev. The cynical response of a terrorist state to our successes at the front. <…> Russia does not stop its vile tactics. And we do not stop our fight. The occupiers will answer for every crime against Ukraine and Ukrainians.”

From the first day of the war, Nikolaev was exposed to regular shelling. For 261 days of the war, the Russian army did not attack the city for only 45 days. “The rest of the days we were under torture, so people don’t stay here, they don’t feel safe and move on,” Senkevich said .
