The Insider, Bellingcat, The Project, Important Stories and Navalny’s team launch an application for publishing investigations bypassing blocking

Five investigative outlets have launched a mobile app to bypass Russian government blocking: The Insider, Bellingcat, The Project, Important Stories, and Alexey Navalny's team will publish their investigations on the Samizdat app, already available for Apple and Android users.

In recent years, all independent Russian media have faced unprecedented repression, but investigative journalists have suffered the most. The editorial offices and their authors were entered into the register of “foreign agents”, the publications were recognized as “undesirable organizations”, the journalists were searched, criminal cases were started and continue to be started against them. Media websites were blocked, and articles were removed by the decisions of Russian courts. The purpose of this attack is to destroy investigative journalism in Russia and make information about corruption, dictatorship and war inaccessible to Russians.

Russian investigative journalists not only did not stop their activities, but also created an aggregator protected from blocking, which will allow you to find all the most important investigations in Russian in one place. Samizdat does not have a common editorial policy and leadership, each team is responsible for its own publications.
