Ukraine and the Czech Republic will create a joint defense cluster involving the production of military equipment

The State Concern Ukroboronprom and the Intergovernmental Agency for Defense Cooperation (AMOS) under the Czech Ministry of Defense signed an agreement on the creation of a joint defense cluster, the press service of the concern reported .

“The creation of a defense cluster involves the production of military equipment, an increase in the production of ammunition of various calibers (both at existing facilities and at newly created facilities in safe places), the development of service hubs for the maintenance and repair of weapons and military equipment, as well as cooperation in the field of high technologies, in particular , the creation of joint research centers," the Ukroboronprom website said in a statement.

The concern emphasized that the leading Ukrainian and Czech defense enterprises, as well as international financial donors, will be involved in the implementation of these plans.

It is specified that the agreement on the creation of the cluster was signed in accordance with the agreements reached last week by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

Fiala met with Zelensky in Kyiv on 31 October. The parties discussed the involvement of Prague in the training of the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as the construction and repair of military equipment. They also signed a declaration on Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic perspective, which reaffirms "commitment to NATO's 'open door' policy."
