Dmitry Goloshchapov, 29, the son of St. Petersburg businessman Konstantin Goloshchapov, whom the media calls Vladimir Putin's "masseur", died three days after his father's house was searched on June 22. The death became known publicly on November 11, the publications "Rotonda" and "Fontanka" drew attention to the grave.

On November 11, in St. Petersburg, they said goodbye to former plenipotentiary Viktor Cherkesov, at the farewell ceremony, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President Lyubov Sovershayeva and Governor Alexander Beglov spoke at the farewell ceremony. After participating in the ceremony, Beglov laid flowers on the grave of Dmitry Goloshchapov, journalists drew attention.

In the summer of 2022, Konstantin Goloshchapov became a defendant in a criminal case of embezzlement in the St. Petersburg Vodokanal, the security forces came with searches to his Moscow apartment. They were interested in the contracts of St. Petersburg Lenenergo and Vodokanal in 2015-2018, the contractor for which was the construction company Nostrum, patronized by Goloshchapov. After Beglov came to the post, contracts were no longer concluded with the company. According to Rotunda, Goloshchapov's son died a few days after the searches, and the funeral was held behind closed doors. Then the former governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and the current head of the city Alexander Beglov also took part in them.

In December 2021, Roskomnadzor sent notices to the editors of Znak.com demanding that they remove two notes about investigations by MBKh Media, a project of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, from the site. One of them spoke about the co-founder of the Russian Athos Society, businessman Konstantin Goloshchapov, who owns the Tahko Tours cottage village in the Tahko ski resort. The cost of the recreation center is estimated at about 13 million euros, and it operates at a loss. The entrepreneur is called "the massage therapist of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin" due to the fact that, according to journalists, Goloshchapov helped to cure the future head of state of a sports injury during his active judo classes.
